Urban Sketching is a website about drawing and painting. Urban sketchers enjoy working on location in cities and while traveling around the world. Some sketchers use sketchbooks, some use travel journals, and some sketch on any old paper at hand. What will your sketches be like?
About the Artist/Writer
Hello, my name is Karla Beatty.
I am a visual arts professional with years of experience creating many varieties of contemporary art. My artwork is ideal for interior design and home decorating. I feel my life work is also about helping people get in touch with their creative selves, because living a creative life is a beautiful thing!
For the past ten years, I have taught drawing and watercolor painting to adults. But now, I work with designers, interior decorators, and home decorators to supply them with my unique, one of a kind artworks in abstract originals, canvas giclees, and framed prints. My early artwork is seen in illustrations for books, magazines, and the internet. I also love to help others explore their creativity through online art lessons and writings. Sometimes, my work is about art, such as Urban Sketching. Other times it’s about creative careers. Ultimately, it’s all about balanced living for creatives.
What I love most in the world is motivating people to do creative work. Truly, when people create art in a mindful life, the whole world is a better place.
